London London HA8 Ph: (0044) 07957228269 Email More Picturess Hello! Or "Privet!" as I would say it in Russian. Yes, I speak Russian together with some other tongues. Born in Kharkov, Soviet Union in 1970 I was brought up in engineers' family bilingual in Ukrainian and Russian. Since leaving my home country, democratisation broke off the Country I once knew and I turned out to be Ukrainian (Which I found out when changing my passport). Having a dog had always been my dream, like, probably, most kids dream of becoming a superman or other superhero. It came true when my family acquired a rescue Irish Setter just passed my 12th birthday. And it all started right then - I couldn't do sports I was fairly good at (so they said) and instead spent most weekends and some weekday nights at local Dog Training Club and it's training grounds. And it took a very long time for my dog to finally realise what I was trying to teach him. Years went by, and we both improved - he won a couple of obedience rounds on Country's scale and got picked to be a demo dog for the national team, I was accepted into Teacher's University to study Biology. My new dog gained a few CAC and CACIB titles under newly launched FCI ruling. Qualified as an instructor and competition judge I slowly earned my way up to Country's highest grade of National Category Judge and my instructing experience was rather impressive after being involved in teaching agility, obedience and ringcraft classes. Sirius – the dog Centre I founded then published books, weekly newspaper, weekly TV animal show, manufactured doggie goods, managed our own kennels for 70 dogs and I still competed with my Setters. I also trained a team of 6 dogs that were picked to participate in people's rescue mission in Armenia after the biggest earthquake of 1988. I graduated in 1992 with merit and a diploma in Animal Science (MSc & BEd) and started work on my PhD in Physiology of Behaviour. Another year later all the practical work finished and I was facing a further 2 years of analysing the results of my research and preparing masses of paperwork. That did it for me, and I left my study coming to UK on exchange programme, and just as before, never resumed my doctorate study at Reading University, School of Animal Science. Since 1996 I have been working in London training dogs under the name of Good Boy Dog School. Motivational training and giving dogs opportunity to work out the course of action for themselves made the School what it is now - one of the biggest and most well known training establishments in South-East of England. There are hundreds of trainees graduating from our School annually and many more people seek private help from me and our trainers, enough to make my dream work a main interest in life, main income, hobby and lifestyle. Kyrill, my son of 7 years, (and a 3 weeks old daughter Maria) share our house with the Cat, Parrot, Fish and other dogs living here, lodging, visiting. ID: 19602 |
Maldon Essex CM9 6SJ Ph: (0845 ) 5196866 Email More Picturess Mike is a full time professional Dog Behaviourist and Master Dog Trainer. He has studied with The Cambridge Institution of Dog Behaviour and Training. Mike is also an Associate with The Canine and Feline Behaviour Association and Master Trainer with The Guild of Dog Trainers. Mike has owned German Shepherd Dogs since a child and currently has two, Jazz and Shogun Mike has attended numerous dog training clubs and dog agility clubs over the years. He has gained a huge understanding of dog behaviour by studying stray dogs in europe. These dogs were mostly once pet dogs but left to fend for themselves and often form packs. This allowed Mike to get a greater understanding of pet dog behaviour and how they use their body language and gestures to maintain harmony in their pack. Mike has utilized this knowledge to communicate with dogs that he is asked to deal with. Mike can quickly gain their trust and respect which often leads to correcting any unwanted behaviour or dog problems in just one session. ID: 19492 |

Richmond Surrey TW10 Email More Picturess Visit WebsiteRescue Remedies is based in Surrey and aims to provide foster for homeless dogs and support for families and dogs while awaiting their forever owners. Limited use of good kennels where no other alternative is possible. Rescue Remedies also helps ex-kennel dogs develop skills to enable them to find their pet homes. Terrier Rescue is more national based with people retaining their dogs & rehoming them via our assessment skills; website & support. As a small rescue we are dependant on goodwill & volunteer fosterers, donation of dog food or items, admin support; spreading the word in search for good homes and above all, offer a homeless dog their home for life. We aim to give a truthful description of the dog to the best of our knowledge and assessmentWe neuter the dogs in our care prior to adoption (exception puppies or if medically advised against) Our dogs have received at least one vaccination; microchipped: flea and worm treated. Any health issues are investigated and treated prior to adoption where obvious eg most older dogs have dental work offered them. We do not discriminate against a dog on age or health. We try to help a varied representative mix of dogs but do have a terrier bias to our overall numbers. Our phone bills, transport costs and running costs are paid for by our volunteers. Contributions we received pay our vet & kennel bills. We are always grateful for any contribution made to our dogs. We require a complete questionnaire with all enquiries & carry out home checks vet references to ensure the home meets the dogs needs. For homechecking purposes we do prefer that prospective adopters live within south counties. Edinburgh East Lothian EH15 Ph: (0131) 6695331 Email Aims and Work Our philosophy The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home is a registered charity (Charity No SC006914) run by its Committee of Management and is a member of the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes. We are one of the few independent homes in Scotland taking in many hundreds of stray and unwanted dogs and cats every year. Stray animals come to us via the police, local authority dog wardens, SSPCA Inspectors and members of the public. The Home has an excellent record of returning lost or stray animals to their rightful owners and also for finding suitable new homes for those animals whose owners no longer want them or are unable to keep them for whatever reason. Contrary to common belief, the Home does not destroy dogs or cats unless there is a compelling need to do so, e.g. incurable illness, extreme old age or very serious temperament faults. The dogs and cats are housed in modern, purpose-built kennels and catteries and every care and attention is taken, particularly with regard to the health and comfort of the animals. We have a very loyal, caring and well-trained staff who offer the animals as much care and attention as they can. The Home is also fortunate to have the services of Edinburgh University’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies to provide ongoing care, treatment and advice with the best of facilities. In order to try to tackle the problem of stray and unwanted animals, the Home has a very successful and popular neutering policy. We will help to subsidise the future cost of spaying or neutering of any animal re-homed by us. Currently this amounts to £25 for a dog and £15 for a cat. To support the work of caring for stray and unwanted dogs and cats, the Home also provides boarding facilities to a very high standard, with under floor heating in the kennels and warm air heating in the catteries. Many of our boarders come back time after time and are well known to our staff who welcome them back regularly for their annual holidays. Although administration costs are kept to the absolute minimum, it takes a great deal of money each year to care for animals and support from the public is essential. So please help us to help the animals! ID: 19375 |
