This is a warm touching story about an unwanted dog who eventually gets a new owner and becomes an integral part of the owner's life and indeed of many others'. It's essentially a very happy book so read it if you're feeling down and need a lift. It's funny, sometimes sad, well paced and written in an uncomplicated style that is so welcome nowadays. Of course it helps if you like dogs in general and Golden Retrievers in particular, but it's not essential. You'll end up smiling in any event..........

This is a great book, it covers everything you need to consider before getting a puppy and also how to treat your new dog from the moment it arrives in its new home.
I wish we had this book when we got our dog as it would have made life much easier both for us and the dog!
