I bought this book, entitled "Grow Your Pup with Bones" expecting to find a comprehensive guide to feeding my puppy. What it is a comprehensive guide to WHY you should feed your puppy raw. All very well and good but there is one scant chapter on actually HOW to feed your puppy and then it says, "for more information read Chapter 17 'Feeding Your New Puppy' in Give Your Dog A Bone!! The cheek! I don't expect to buy a book for £23 that is supposed to deal exclusively with feeding a puppy only to be told to go and buy another over-priced book to find out the information that should have been contained in this book!

I found this book really easy to read and understand as a owner of dogs yet a novice breeder. It is indepth and covers the whole process from selecting a good quality of dog to breed to caring for puppies and potential problems. The only way it could be better is colour photographs (as they are all black and white) but otherwise all you could need in a guide to breeding!

This amazing book dedicated for the first-time potential breeder, fascinates and informs as well, active fanciers with years of experience in the field. This serious work is very well illustrated with appropriate photographs and is interjected with a marvelous sense of humor through numerous illustrations. The book includes not just the ideal experiences, but also the "what if ..." occurrences. The chapters proceed in a logical progression. Included is an extensive glossary of terminology. The indexing by individual subject or problem is a complete referral. This piece of artistry painted with words has saved the lives of innumerable dams and offspring. Even the most experienced breeders are now whelping their litters "by The Book"! This rarity in the realm of dogs and breeding is destined to become a classic in its own time and beyond.

We would have been lost without this book. We read it four times before our female Bichon Frise was ready to deliver. It gives excellent step-by-step procedures that guided us through the whelping process and made us aware of difficulties that we could encounter. After studying the information, we were ready and able to take on the responsibility. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is considering breeding their dog. To the authors, "Bravo!"
