KJALARNES KENNELS
Kjalarnes Kennels is an established show / breeding kennel in the heart of England – 5 minutes from the A45 / M42 / M6. Leonbergers and Newfoundlands from our kennels have been successfully shown at Championship level in the UK, having several Best of Breed as well as Best Bitch and Best Puppy wins and Best Puppy in Breed 2003.
HEALTH
We health screen all our dogs and only use dogs which have clear hearts and low hip scores. We additionally screen Leonbergers for Elbow Dysplacia and Hereditary Cataracts.
We aim to produce healthy, happy puppies with good temperaments –ideal for families or for show homes if appropriate.
REARING PUPPIES
Puppies are reared and socialised in a home environment. They are fully health monitored from birth (records can be seen) and are checked by our vet prior to leaving for their new homes.
CONTRACT OF SALE / YOUR GUARANTEE
All puppies are are sold with a contract of sale guaranteeing the rights of the new owner plus a commitment to the future welfare of the puppy.
Puppies are additionally provided with 6 weeks free insurance.
We actively encourage visits from the local authority animal welfare team even though we are not licensed.
ONGOING SUPPORT
As breeders we aim to provide ongoing support to new owners - whether it is to give advice over the phone or to help on site with grooming or behavioural problems. Several puppies have returned for holidays!! Also several puppies have gone to homes already owning a dog from our kennels.
The future welfare of puppies bred by us is paramount when placing them in new homes. Owning a giant breed puppy requires special commitment and to this end we reserve the right not to sell a puppy to a home where we feel it’s welfare will be compromised.
