If you are planning on breeding, showing or working your whippets in a serious way, then this is the book for you. However, there is too much detail for the average owner. We were looking for something that would help our daughter take an interest and learn something about the newest members of the family but the presentational style was more like an owners manual from the 1950s than a modern informative book. There are other books around that have loads of colour photos and plenty of short, sharp pieces of information that would suit the younger reader or less serious whippet owner.
There is still a place for books like this but for an occasional reference volume, there are better.
