Although the quality of this book (being a reproduction of an original) is somewhat lacking in "Quality", it no way detracts from the content, which makes it a must for anyone interested in the early history of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and gives a first hand picture of the dogs involved at a crucial time in the breeds development and with descriptions of individual dogs, "brings them back to life" so to speak.
The pictures are not of perfect quality but are good enough to see what individual dogs looked like. (Wish there were more).
The book also gives a very detailed explanation of the 1935 standard used for Kennel Club acceptance of the breed.
The book is not very long but every page is informative in some way.
If you are truely interested in the history of the breed then you should purchase it immediately, if you are looking for a general book on caring for a Stafford etc, then this is not the book you need.
All in all, I am extremely happy with this book and bearing in mind the quality issues stated above, it was well worth the purchase price.
